About

First, thank you for joining me here and taking the time to explore my work! I am a transplant from Southwest Michigan to Indiana in 2020, and as a full time artist, you can find me venturing across Northern Michigan and Indiana doing art fairs, artist residencies, pop-up gallery shows, and painting “en plein air” during the summer months. I teach adult watercolor at the Indianapolis Art Center, and offer workshops with several other hosts around Indianapolis. In the winter, I cozy up in my home studio, accepting commissions and painting new collections for the next season of shows.
My education includes a childhood of drawing and painting even prior to attending the school of the Art Institute of Chicago and completing my Bachelor of Fine Arts at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2013.
Each of my paintings represent a “Pause” moment to me. A moment of appreciation, gratitude, and sometimes awe of the world around me. I hope these artworks will encourage you to breathe deep and take a “pause” moment too.
Best,
Emily
